Please contact String King beforehand for advice or bring your instrument to us for an assessment so we can agree exactly what is required. Estimates are free and are best done in person with the instrument in hand.

Visits to the workshop are by appointment only. Please contact us to arrange a time.

Please note that payment must be made on collection (we do not require any advance payment). Payment can be taken in cash or by card.Instruments must be collected within two weeks of notification of completion of the agreed work (unless otherwise agreed). A storage charge of £5 per week will apply after two weeks unless otherwise agreed.

Acoustic Set Up
An acoustic set up includes:
truss rod check and adjustment, string height
adjustment, re-string, fret polishing and fretboard cleaning.
Includes a new set of

Electric Set Up
An electric set up includes:
spot levelling (if required), intonation, string action, neck relief, nut action, fret polishing and fretboard cleaning.

Fret Re-Crown
Frets re-crowned (dressed) to restore smooth playability and precise intonation. Over time, the frets on your guitar can wear down, leading to buzzing, uneven action, and poor tone.
Our fret re-crowning service involves carefully reshaping the top of each fret to its original crown profile.
Full Copper Foil Shielding
For guitars with single coil pickups. Defeat the 50/60 cycle hum! Full copper shielding of control cavities.

Nut Replacement
Our Nut Replacement service involves carefully removing the old nut and replacing it with a brand-new one, custom-fitted to your guitar. The new nut is precisely shaped and set to the correct action height, ensuring smooth string action and optimal tuning stability.
